James M. “Jim” Clark, 74, of Elkhart, died on Friday, January 6, 2017 at Elkhart General Hospital.
Jim was born on November 9, 1942 in Elkhart to the late Lester and Rose (Willis) Clark.
On February 22, 1964, Jim married the former Elaine Magnusen in Elkhart. Elaine died April 3, 2015. He is survived by a daughter, Heather (Jim) Henderson of Charlotte, NC; twin sons, Jon Clark of Chicago, Jeff (Jenny) Clark of Whitefish Bay, WI; six grandchildren: Michael, John, Sophia, Jacob, Hannah and Hadley; a sister, Roxy Stone of Wilmington, NC and a brother, Jon Clark of Elkhart. Also surviving is his faithful companion, his dog, Sam.
Jim was the owner and operator of the Jimtown Barber Shop for many years. After selling the shop, Jim worked in security and later as a supervisor for Miles Laboratories (Bayer) for 25 years. Upon retirement from Bayer, Jim went to work part-time for Kent’s Barber Shop in Elkhart.
Jim was a graduate of Elkhart High School and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. He also was a graduate of the Barber School in Indianapolis, IN. Jim also enjoyed golf, bowling and was a fast-pitch softball player. He was also an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
Visitation for Jim will be held on Sunday, January 15th from 2 to 4 at the Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home. Memorial services will begin immediately following visitation at 4, also at the funeral home. The Rev. Christopher Davis of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate.
